Meet Our Guides for Meditation

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years delving into contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We see meditation as not about clearing the mind or reaching a flawless Zen state. It's about learning to be with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the busy planning mind, even that odd itch that appears shortly after you begin.

Our group blends decades of practice from various traditions. Some arrived at meditation via academic philosophy, others through personal upheavals, and a few discovered it in college and never left. We are united by a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical everyday skill, not a mystical pursuit.

Each guide has their own way of presenting ideas. Ravi favors everyday-life analogies, while Ananya leans on her psychology background. We've learned that various approaches resonate with different people, so you’ll probably connect more with some teaching styles more than others.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began meditating in 1998 after burnout from a software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. His strength lies in clarifying ancient ideas through surprisingly contemporary analogies—he has likened the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and focuses on helping busy professionals develop sustainable meditation practices. His sessions frequently include practical discussions on incorporating mindfulness into work life and handling stress without spiritual bypassing.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya merges her PhD in Germany Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative practice while studying ancient texts and realized that theoretical knowledge alone isn't enough without experiential insight. Her approach links scholarly understanding with real-world application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for rendering complex philosophical ideas approachable without oversimplifying. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate but also why these practices evolved and what they aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Approach

After years of practice and teaching, we've found meditation benefits from being demystified. We don't promise enlightenment or perfect peace. Instead, we focus on building skills to help you meet life's inevitable challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, giving you time to decide whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking time to make thoughtful choices about contemplative practice—not rushing in on a whim.

If you're curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual quest, we'd be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly but profoundly changed our lives, and we've seen it transform many others as well.
